- Define how your photos will be used before choosing the style and the location.
- Pick comfortable outfits that you already wear.
- Take care of last-minute details: sleep, hydration, hair.
- Prepare a few inspiration images to guide the photographer.
- On the day, let yourself be guided: a pose is built by two people.
A portrait for a professional profile, for a couple, a family or for social media is not prepared in the same way. Before booking, answer one simple question: where will these photos be seen? Framing, outfit, mood and even location follow from it: a professional portrait calls for a plain backdrop and a composed expression, while a lifestyle session leaves more room for movement and setting.
Outdoors, natural light gives lively images and a soft rendering, provided you pick the right time of day and accept a degree of unpredictability (weather, passers-by). In the studio, the light is fully controlled: a reassuring choice if you feel uneasy in public or want a neutral backdrop.
In our catalogue, the individual photo session takes place outdoors or in the studio (the studio is never included: €60 ≈ $66 option on every package). A mobile photographer can also travel to Montpellier or Toulouse to find a suitable setting together.
The best outfit is the one in which you feel like yourself. Favour clothes you have already worn, well ironed, in plain or low-contrast shades. Bring two or three options to vary the images. We cover the topic in detail in our article What to wear for a photo session?.
- Sleep well the night before and drink water: a rested face shows.
- Avoid drastic changes (new haircut, new colour, unusual treatment) right before the session.
- Think about your hands and nails if they appear in the photos.
- Plan simple accessories: clean glasses, discreet jewellery, a watch.
Gathering a few images you like (mood, colours, framing) helps you speak the same language. No need for a full file: three to five references are enough. Once your quote is confirmed, you can collect them in a personalised moodboard directly from your client area: art direction, mood, palette and inspiration (Pinterest, links).
Arrive a few minutes early, without pressure. A good photographer guides you: where to put your hands, where to look, how to move. The Signature package includes posing guidance, and the Discovery package a guided selection. Breathe, chat, laugh: the best images often come between two poses.
As for duration, allow about 1 hour for a Discovery package, 2 hours for a Signature, a half-day for a Premium and a full day for the Editorial.
Your photos are sorted, carefully retouched, then delivered in high definition in a private gallery that you download from your client area. The delivery times shown on each package range from 5 to 10 working days, counted from the shoot date. You can then use the images commercially: usage rights are transferred to you with no time limit.
- Choosing your outfit the night before, in a rush: try your options a few days earlier.
- Wearing uncomfortable clothes: discomfort shows on your face.
- Changing your appearance drastically just before the session.
- Keeping quiet about what you dislike (a profile, a smile): say so at the start, and the photographer will adapt the angles.
- Trying to pose all the time: alternate poses with moments of movement or conversation.
The professional portrait serves an image of credibility: plain backdrop, outfit close to your profession, direct gaze, composed expression. The lifestyle portrait tells a personality: chosen location, movement, freer outfits, natural light. Many clients combine both in a single session, planning one outfit for each register.
In our catalogue, four packages cover the usual needs: Discovery (€250 ≈ $275: 1-hour session, 8 retouched HD photos, guided selection), Signature (€420 ≈ $460: 2 hours, 15 retouched HD photos, posing guidance), Premium (€650 ≈ $715: half-day, up to 2 moods, 25 HD photos, 2 outfits) and Bunkaio editorial (€1,090 ≈ $1,200: full day, 4 locations and 4 outfits, 30 HD photos, a short film). All include a private download gallery. Estimate your project in a few minutes with our online quote.
